About us
Jamie Thom Conservation Safaris is a leading experiential travel company, that has been designing personalized safaris to Southern and East Africa for over ten years.
We travel regularly and stay in touch with experts on the ground, keeping us up to date on what the best destinations are, and how to maximise your experience. Everything we do revolves around our belief that travel should be comprised of incredible and memorable experiences. In addition, we wholly support conservation travel and a portion of funds from every trip booked with us goes to protecting wildlife and environments. We also carefully select safari providers who are actively protecting environments and caring for local communities - to ensure the future of wildlife and tourism.
With our extensive knowledge of parks, reserves, safari camps and experiences, and the ultimate in personalized service, you simply won't find a superior African safari! Travelling in Africa is expensive and we endeavour to make every cent well spent.

Conservation
The threats which face wildlife and wild places in Africa are many and complex! In order to preserve this for future generations we need to be pro-active and support effective organizations that are focused on this.
These are the projects and organizations we support;
Panthera has brought together the world's leading wild cat experts to direct and implement effective conservation strategies for the world's largest and most endangered cats: tigers, lions, jaguars and snow leopards. Our approach to wild cat conservation is rooted in science and based upon decades of first hand field experience.
Rhinos without borders is about taking rhinos from existing, high density populations which are attracting more and more poaching, and releasing them into the wild within a country that has low densities of rhino and the best anti- poaching record on the continent. It also secures rhino breeding diversity and provides a nucleus of stock in a different location, so that these animals are not all concentrated in one location. It's not a rescue, but it could be considered an Ark for rhino genes.
In addition to this, where possible, we select safari providers who are actively protecting wildlife and supporting local communities. "The communities that live alongside the world's parks and reserves now hold the key to the survival of our wilderness areas and to its wildlife - they will need to 'own' the wildlife through being integrally part of, and at the heart of an inclusive safari tourism industry; if not, these communities will own the wildlife in their cooking pots! Conservation tourism is a route to developing a thriving wildlife tourism industry in partnership with local communities, so that these communities start to see wildlife as their asset and not a menu item - these communities, in turn, become the best conservators."
